Life coaches help clients discover their full potential. Whether helping a client in their career or personal life, life coaches provide an objective third-party view to offer guidance and act as a sounding board. A life coach is not there to provide all the answers or do the work, but to show their client the way for them to find their own answers or the best way to accomplish their own work.
Clients are looking for a way to achieve their goals quicker and they want to do so without wasting time, energy, money – or risking embarrassment along the way.
A Life coach can provide
CLARITY to clients to be able to formulate goals, choose an appropriate direction, remove ambiguity and confusion and illuminate best available options.
VALIDATION to clients to increase self confidence and build motivation.
UNBIASED FEEDBACK to help a client recognise their unique abilities, so that they can play by their strengths and work on any weakness.
ALTERNATIVE OPINION to a client to provide a different perspective, open up to other possibilities and expand options.
NON JUDGEMENTAL LISTENING to make the client feel understood and supported, build confidence, share and diffuse difficult emotions, feel valued and empowered and clarify their thoughts.
REASSURANCE AND GUIDANCE to help clients minimise the possibility of failure, get the most return from their time, money, and effort, provide support needed to reach their goals quicker.
Whatever your reason for seeking or considering a coach, it is entirely your own. In a chaotic world, our identities can be shaped by the opinions and views of those around us, which can limit our beliefs and experiences. A life coach is not there to direct your life. Your coach’s role is to assist you in determining what truly matters to you, what you need more or less of, and what you truly want your life to be about, rather than simply dreaming about it.
The real question is, are you living your life as you should? If the answer is “no,” you DO need a coach.
A life coach will not know you better than you know yourself (duh!) but an experienced life coach will see through the story you’ve been telling yourself for years. They will delve deeper into your story and challenge you to rethink why you do what you do.
A life coach is not intended to provide answers to your questions. He/she is supposed to ask questions that will cause you to reconsider answers you made up or were fed that you never considered questioning before.
Coaching can reveal much more about you than you realise, including your limiting beliefs, life story, values, and aspirations. There will be unexpected results from each coaching session.
